The neighborhood
Zilker filled in around the park roughly a century ago, and the streets still show it: short blocks, narrow pavement, driveways sized for one car, and a canopy of live oaks that closes over the road. The houses run from 1930s bungalows to new builds dropped onto those same small lots. A full-size truck does not always get to the front door.
