The terrain
Buildings with character. Stairwells with opinions.
Hillcrest does not do loading docks. It does third-floor walk-ups off University Avenue, condo buildings with one shared elevator and an HOA that wants paperwork, and cottages tucked behind other cottages. Our local moving crews work this terrain all over San Diego, and when the job is one dresser instead of one household, the small moves crew takes it at small-move pricing.
Street parking is its own job here. We plan where the truck sits before we arrive, so the carry stays short and the neighbors stay friendly.
Apartment moving, priced before the truck rolls.

Larger homes run $1,000–1,400. No fuel, stair or mileage fees, and military, student and senior discounts apply on request.
One block at a time.
Paperwork before pavement
Your building's certificate of insurance lands with the HOA or property manager ahead of move day, the elevator gets reserved if there is one, and the stair route gets walked before a single box moves.
Boxed for the stairwell
Boxes kept under 50 pounds, furniture blanket-wrapped and shrink-wrapped before it leaves the room. If you would rather never touch a tape gun, our packing crew boxes the whole apartment the day before.
Set up, not dropped off
Bed frames and tables reassembled, furniture placed where you point. The flat-pack backlog and the new bookshelf are a furniture assembly job we handle in the same trip.
Walk-up questions, answered before move day.
No. Stairs are already factored into your all-inclusive price, and buildings without elevators are a normal Tuesday for our crews. No fuel fees, no stair fees, no mileage fees, ever.
Most small moves run $400–600, a typical 1–2 bedroom apartment or condo lands in the $600–1,000 range, and larger homes range $1,000–1,400. A $100 deposit holds your date and is applied to the total. You get an exact, guaranteed number before we book.
Then it goes over the balcony instead. Our movers hoist large furniture like couches over balconies when the stairwell says no, and when disassembly is the smarter route, we take pieces apart and reassemble them on the other side.
