The neighborhood
Much of the housing going up around Rockwall is new: wide two-story plans, three-car garages, and subdivisions on streets that were pasture a few years ago. Older Rockwall sits closer to the downtown square, where the lots are smaller and the trees have had time to fill in. The two ask for different things on move day.
A new build is its own discipline. Door jambs, banisters and stair treads get padded, floor protection goes down along the route the crew actually walks, and if the builder wants the truck kept off fresh concrete, it stays off.
