Orange County

Movers in Cypress who know the streets off Katella

Cypress was built out in the 1960s and 1970s and never really stopped being that city: single story ranch houses on flat streets, deep back yards, two car garages holding boxes nobody has opened since the Reagan years. Around that core sit the newer pieces, the gated Sorrento tracts, the townhome and condo clusters near Valley View, and the 55+ homes at Flora Park. Flexdolly moves all of it, on the same crew standard we have held for over six years.

The neighborhood

What a Cypress move actually involves

Cypress is flat. No canyon road, no hillside driveway, no beach permit, which removes the three things that usually slow a move down elsewhere in Orange County. What replaces them is geometry. The 605 runs down the west side, the 91 across the top, the 22 and 405 along the bottom, and not one of them passes through town, so every truck arrives on Katella, Valley View, Ball or Lincoln and stays on surface streets for the rest of the day. Those streets were laid out for the cars of the period, so parking a truck is a question of where the neighbors left theirs, not whether it fits.

The housing follows the same era. Most of Cypress is single story ranch stock with a deep yard and a long tenured owner, and most of it carries no HOA and no Mello-Roos, so the move is strictly between you and the curb. The exceptions are the part worth planning. The gated Sorrento tracts need a code or a call from the box before a truck reaches the door. The townhome and condo clusters off Valley View and Ball run CC&Rs that are strict on overnight parking, which turns a job that finishes late into an HOA problem rather than a moving problem. Senior buildings such as Westmont of Cypress on Katella and Cypress Park on Grindlay work on booked elevator windows. We ask for the gate code, the HOA move window and the elevator reservation when you book, not when we arrive. One more local detail: Los Alamitos Race Course sits inside Cypress on Katella despite the name, and on a race night that stretch of road is worth avoiding.

Senior Moving

Cypress carries an unusual amount of this work for its size. Original owners are leaving ranch houses they bought new in the seventies, Ovation at Flora Park has added 55+ homes in a city that otherwise stopped building decades ago, and Westmont of Cypress on Katella and Cypress Park on Grindlay take residents compressing a whole house into one or two rooms. We work at the pace of the person moving, label by room so the new place is findable on the first night, and the senior discount applies.

Cypress to Cypress

Local Residential Moving

The city is built out, so nearly everything on the market is resale. Families trade the two bedroom off Denni for the four bedroom off Moody and never leave the school district, which makes the classic Cypress job a short single story to single story hop with a full house inside it. Short distance is not short care: same wrap, same floor protection, same crew, and no mileage fee on a move that travels a mile.

PCS and short notice

Military Moving

Flexdolly was founded in 2020 by a U.S. Army soldier and a college student, and the Joint Forces Training Base sits a few minutes west of Cypress down Katella. Service families rent the townhomes and apartments near Valley View and Ball, usually on orders that leave a narrow window. We run 24/7 including holidays, every specialist passes a criminal background check, and the military discount applies.

Cypress questions we get

Not if we know beforehand. Give us the gate code or the name to use at the call box, the HOA's approved move window and whether the street bans overnight parking, and we plan truck position and finish time around all three. For the gated Sorrento tracts we confirm access in writing at booking. On the open single family streets, which is most of Cypress, we simply park at the curb in front of the house.

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Orange County is served by our San Diego operation, which is where the company has been since 2020. The crews cover Cypress and the rest of north Orange County regularly, and the California line is (858) 733-0775.

Small moves generally run $400 to $600, a one or two bedroom $600 to $1,000, larger homes $1,000 to $1,400. The deposit starts at $100, applies to the total and is refundable with 48 hours notice. No fuel surcharge, no stair fee, no mileage fee, no material fee. We are rated 5.0 across 795 Google reviews and have kept damage claims under 0.8% over more than 10,000 moves, which is the part of the price that never shows on a quote.

That is the standard Cypress job. A tract house built in the 1960s or 1970s and held by one family comes with a garage, an attic and a side yard that have never once been emptied, and the volume is almost always larger than the family expects. We quote after seeing the whole property rather than just the rooms, we can pack the entire house so nobody spends a month living out of boxes, and junk removal can run alongside the move so the donation pile leaves the same day.

Yes. Orange County is covered by the same San Diego operation that started in 2020, one county south, reachable on (858) 733-0775. Same crews, same CAL-T licensed and insured company, same guaranteed price.
